9- Dangerous

I’m a self-thinker. I like watching all news sources. Okay, I watch many news sources, I like some, I despise some, and there are one or two I love. (See The Greg Gutfeld Show… really, Saturday nights 10pm, watch it ya’ll!) You shouldn’t call me a Republican or a Conservative, I want to be part of the Log Cabin club, but I’m really a middle of the road Libertarian. I have no idea what this Brexit thing is, and truly, I don’t think anyone does. It’s still being crafted, and just like with Obamacare in The States, it seems like it’s going to have to pass to really know what is in it. I don’t care if it’s a liberal or a conservative led bill, that’s not a smart thing to Ever let happen. Can you tell I get riled up over politics? I can easily not talk about them, but I love to hear alternative views and have a great debate over things. I am able to talk about current events, disagree with another person, then go on as friends, family, or with the rest of the date, can you? I have found this to not happen more often than not. That’s really unfortunate to happen with people who claim to be the most accepting of everyone, except the person who disagrees on views with you.

The UK has produced amazing people and things from Adele and the Spice Girls to Jock Locke and penicillin. My newest obsession is Milo Yiannopoulous. The gay conservative voice of my generation. Oh you’ve heard of him? Yeah he said that, and that… like me, he was sexually abused as a kid by an older man. Like me, he’s also over it. It should be talked about, sigma should be taken away from it so that we can all start stopping it from happening because we are aware of just how often it happens. Now, back to politics. I was talking to a wonderful guy today, a great London Chap! He said to me “Trump is in town, mind taking him back please?!!!” My response:

“No problem there. You are aware that our economy was growing at its slowest rate in 40+ years and unemployment was at an all-time high over the course of the last 30 or so years when he took office? Now our economy is growing at a pace not seen since WWII and unemployment is just about at its lowest rate ever. North Korea has been all but neutralized, Syria is beyond being on notice to never use chemical weapons on its own citizens ever again, NATO allies have kicked in a combined 12 billion toward our collective security, he’s installing a second Supreme Court justice that will rule based on law over feelings, and he has pissed a lot of people off for not being lovey dovey with every single faction of the country and the world. Damn if I would ever be friends with the jerk of a guy, but damn if I don’t feel safer in my country and traveling to the rest of the world with him as our president. You may not like the guy himself, but you’ve got to respect what he does in office. I’m an independent thinker. I believe in doing research into my opinions and not trusting what I’m told by any media source.”

I expected him to block me, hard. I waited for the shoe to drop. Then, a majestic response came out of him. He told me about how all the city’s security was selfishly being taken away from its citizens to be directed toward the, well, idiots who are taking the end of week off of work over there to protest in the streets for fear of riots. The demonstrations planned involve other groups plugging their agendas, Brexit, etc. there just doesn’t seem to be enough officers to cope with it all! Then we went right back into everyday conversation. Did I just meet a real great guy who I can really converse with? Fabulous.
